I'm Fired!
Have you ever been fired from work or been terminated from any professional relationship with anybody? I sure have. Twice when I was 16! I cried for at least 2 night after it happened. As soon as I recovered, I stood up taller, got out, geared with more strength that got a lot stronger as I added years to my age. Pain is unexplainable when that happens. You would want to end the world as soon as you hear the bad news. Good thing, I was too young that time and it definitely made me what I am now. Made me stronger and more ready to face the life in reality.Have you had this experience? I believe everybody do. Click on the picture and share your experience with famous and infamous firings.

Nepal's New "Kumari" Enthroned
Matina Shakya, the new living goddess of Nepal, replacing 11-year-old Preeti Shakya, who is approaching puberty and must retire.Read On..
Isn't the girl going to deprive of her normal life?Traditionally, different cities in the Kathmandu Valley have separate "living goddesses." But the most powerful one lives in an ornate 15th century temple in an old part of Kathmandu.
On Tuesday, Matina Shakya, her eyelashes blackened thick with mascara and wearing a red and gold costume, was installed in the divine role she is expected to keep for the next 7-8 years.
"I am proud of her selection as the Kumari," said Pratapman Shakya, the father of the girl picked by a panel of cultural experts.
"I'm also a bit sorry because she will not stay with the family. But that does not matter because she is going to become the goddess. We can visit her whenever we want."
She replaced the 11-year-old Preeti Shakya, who is approaching puberty and must retire.
Kumaris are a major tourist attraction and are considered by many as incarnations of the goddess Kali and are revered until they menstruate, after which they return to the family and a new one is chosen.
In the past Nepali kings have sought the Kumari's blessings, but now the president will do so after the abolition of the monarchy. -- Reuters

NY to Manila Experience
I am going to sum up briefly some of our itineraries on here -- just for the record.
9/11/08- Flight to Manila
- Syracuse Hancock Int'l Airport -> Chicago Ohare -> Tokyo Narita -> NAIA Manila
- I enjoyed the trip from Chicago to Tokyo, that wasn't too tiring, slept almost through the whole leg of flight except when the Flight Attendants deliver food which was the only thing I look forward on trips. The food wasn't that great, never enjoyed the airlines foods but that would do to break the time of more than 12-hour flight. As soon as I finish the food I immediately pass out back to sleep. I just give in. All the layovers and waiting time in between was just more than enough for us to check in and to get our boarding passes and grab something to eat, relax a little bit. I didn't mind the flight on our way down there. Just because I was looking forward to all the activities that are planned to do. Excitement was overflowing.
- Everything went smoothly until we got to the hotel where we checked in the last time.
- Stayed in Manila for 3 nights and stayed in Bayview Park Hotel in Roxas Blvd. across the US Embassy.I chose the hotel because: we stayed in there the last time and the service was OK, location is good -- accessibility to restaurants and bars is OK, rates is OK, service and car rents are always available anytime. Except that night, the guy in suit named Ross - according to his name tag, was asking for our hard copy of our reservation when he could see our reservation on the computer and already verified the credit card. How annoying? Extremely. There you are, had about 25 hours of flight and would insist on seeing the copy of your reservation. Otherwise, you can't get your needed rest? He asked if my hubby and I are together? Even though it was 'obvious' cause i was the one handing him out the credit card while it was my husband who signed the paper. We said, yes we are together. Smoking or non-smoking? NON_SMOKING PLEASE. Guess it doesn't matter now, what we need is a comfortable bed to get some rest. We got to the room and saw two single beds! He already made it clear we are couple, with same last name on the form that we filled out that he checked upon and yet gave us 2 single beds at almost midnight desperate to get some sleep? Called the front desk asked for a King size bed. On 8th floor. Finally we were in the right room. Until the next early morning we were awaken with loud telephone rings we couldn't figure out where. I mean LOUD. Maybe some guests that always gets phone calls? Ok, maybe it's just for one day. I swear, the phone rings every after 3 minutes on the average that whole day. In full volume. Turned out it was the housekeeping's phone outside our room. Don't they have an appropriate area for that phone without bothering their guests who are supposed to be relaxing and resting. Endless misery in that hotel until our last minute. Not to mention every night the people in the next room where our headboard is watching TV all night with the volume fully turned up they couldn't even hear themselves.
Monday, the 15th of September we checked out heading to Boracay for a full 2-week stay -- HEAVEN, totally opposite.
