'It's Great to be Me!'

When I have nothing to do at my morning job, either I read paper or I talk endlessly with my manager (i know it doesn't seem like I have nothing to do). I happen to come by on " The Daily Dose" page of the Post Standard January 24 edition. This article captured my interest and thought of sharing this with you. It is written by a contributing writer Emme Aronson, a Syracuse University Graduate, the first plus-size model, a writer, teacher, entrepreneur, philantrophist. She was twice selected as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People", chosen as one of the "Most Important Women in America", she's been honored as a Glamour Magazine's "Woman of the Year" and as one of Biography Magazine 's "24 Most Influential Women".

Whenever I read about inspiring people be it a woman or a man, i take a closer look and make them as my inspiration on my hopes and goals.

On this article she shares her top 10 ways to "change our mirror image".

It's Great to be Me...

1. Without changing a thing, be bold and say you are beautiful, this second, this moment... right now!

2. Train yourself to say only nice, encouraging and sweet things about yourself when you look in the mirror. The more you do this, the better you'll be at it.

3. When you see your reflection in a window, ask yourself, "Who is that hottie?"

4. Write encouraging quotes on a sticky notes and place them on the mirrors in your bathroom and bedroom as prominent reminders that you are wonderful!

5. Make the effort to smile on the people you pass on the street, in the office and even with friends and family -- it's infectious.

6. Speak kindly and supportively to your sisters and friends who body-bash themselves to you. Never buy into such self-defeating behavior.

7. Avoid dieting or even discussing diets for a week and just live healthfully. Keep a journal on how it felt for you.

8. Thanks you body for being healthy, strong and powerful enough to withstand what you need from it every day.

9. Learn to listen to what your body says and do what it asks of you instead of trying to control, manipulate or change it into something it is not naturally supposed to be.

10. Get rid of worn, old and unflattering garments that don't make you feel good. Learn to dress clothes that are comfortable, fit well and highlights your assets, letting you shine when you walk into a room.

Hmm, the #9 applies to me the most given the fact that I work too hard. Guilty of #7, and I like #8 the most because it is my body that I use everyday for all that I do, but the #10 is kind of irrelevant? I like guidelines like this, helps me with my day in day out living and makes me feel like I am doing the right thing and following simple social rules.
