An Hour Break -- [It's gonna be hard]

From the computer. Home today after my morning job, I feel lucky *wink*.

Got stuff to do though, I promised I only have to stay on the computer until 4pm and my time is almost over. I need a little disciplining of myself... I can't resist the computer is calling me so I am going to shut it off while I am doing some task including getting my papers ready to get my learner's permit this Friday. Too little time for all the things I have to do, sigh, it's ok I am loving it anyway. These things keep me busy.

It only takes an hour altogether anyway to get everything done, perhaps less. And can't stay away from it for too long anyway. It's like a glue. I swear!

Filipinos are known for superstitious beliefs. And others still believe them religiously.


A High School teen died in a fatal fire accident in DeRuyter Lake on Sunday morning at a seasonal camp not too far from our village. Among the 7 campers she was the only one died, her friend a guy 21 year old tried to rescue her and got his head and feet seriously burnt. While a 45 year old man whom they believed to be their chaperon who decided to sleep in the car when they got in the camp at about 2:30am while the other teens stayed inside the cabin. According to them, when they got to the place they started a wooden stove because they were cold. Thats what the authorities believed to have started the whole accident. She was found lying on the bedroom floor, lifeless. Friends were all recalling her as a well-liked person to popular and not-so-popular students in the campus. A teenager ready to graduate from high school left her bereaved family and friends with broken hearts from her loss.

I think one of the things this could have been avoided is Parents should be more aware of their children's activities especially going out at night, driving at night alone is unsafe for teenagers of all kinds. Even dangerous.

In the Philippines, there's this belief that when you are on your way to having an important event in your life such as wedding days, even birthdays, graduation days and many other significant days in your life, you have to be cautious on where you go and what you do because you are prone to accident and death. It is still widely practiced in most areas especially the secluded communities. Even my Dad strongly believes in these kinds of superstitious beliefs, "Nothing to lose if you follow the simple precautions", My Dad would always say.


This is a really sad story, I work with some of her classmates and friends and they are every saddened at losing a well-loved friend. Rest In Peace, JP.

My Weekend Sentiments

-- Before I end April

Weekend is over and back to work again. Why??? I don't want to go back to work yet. I am having so much fun this weekend and I need one more day. I had a long week last week and felt tired and really dragging myself to work every day and couldn't hold on for the much awaited Saturday madness i always have. But I think I was able to recuperate now I slept until almost 11am yesterday and I woke up at noon today so wasn't able to grab opps, weeeh. It's ok at I got to rest.

Even though yesterday was a long afternoon, went to Lacrosse game at 1 o'clock and went home and went to some party. Friday was a little too tiring as well, went to DMV with my suitcase to get my permit and tired, having motion sickness is not funny anymore. I was throwing up on our way to the DMV office and when we got there, the place was packed and got into the line. Was asked for my SSN card, and darn! I forgot it at home. So we turned around and (me, disappointed) had an early dinner and went shopping, that made me feel better. And oh! had my nails done also.

In a couple of hours I will be heading again to work, sad right?

I am already looking forward to the next weekend.

I know my life here is so boring I always talk about how tired I am.

The Dalai Lama In Colgate University

Today I felt like I was blessed with a chance to see His Holiness, Dalai Lama stopped and had lunch at the place where I worked this noon and I was attending to him and he was right in front of me. Really nice guy, I didn't know what to do, wish I even shook his hands or hug him but I was too struck at the sight of him in front of is me.

Here is the video of him when he visited Woodstock, NY in 2006.



They walked in the door with all his bodyguards in black suits. He looked so tired from the trip maybe. I felt his energy surrounding me an felt so blessed being able to be around him for a matter of minutes was a great experience.

So, how is everybody's weekend? Enjoy the rest of it. Live to laugh, laugh to live.

I hate to leave on Sundays for work. I still have an hour but it makes me cry now. I don't want to leave my baby because I miss him already. I feel like crying. We had a great weekend, all we did was laugh and enjoy the time together. And the remaining hour before i head back to work seems like a torture to me. I am inlove. I really appreciate having my husband and I am a lucky wife, indeed! I wish I don't have to work today. But I have more time off this week, looking forward for the next weekend already. I can never stand being away from him. I know I'm getting corny but when you're there, you'll know.

Enjoy every single minute you spend with your better half. It's the most precious time you can have. Let them know how you appreciate them and tell them you love them as often as you could.

Weekend Sentiments -- Spring

It is one gorgeous day! Woke up, walked the dog, went to Emma's on Main Street for breakfast and cleaned the house. Joint account here! hehehe I helped hubby he was begging me, sorry I have been lazy so we agreed on a fair division of labor today and it's now done! We are gonna go for a ride and to a car dealership maybe and look for cars.

Pinoys Again

I wish I had my files here in my new notebook but I don't have chance to import all my files from the old notebook I was using. Plus, I still need to install a software to manage my pictures on this one but I hopefully get a chance to work on that this weekend. I like Picasa and I am used to it now but it takes time to install the thing. So I don't have any pictures on here right now.

But anyway, thanks for the comments you left on my last post. I appreciate the compliments. Thank you. I took that myself yes, when I used to have lots of time doing that. I like using myself as a subject. With very limited capability that I have right now, being just my life revolves here in our village and in our house. But, we can only do the best of what we have at hand right?

On the side note, this morning I saw another Filipina with her daughter and husband in the store where I work and I get excited when I see some Filipinos in the village because it is very rare to see any and when I do I can't help but capture and make the conversation. We talked a little bit but since it was lunchtime the place was busy. Glad to know I am not the only Pinoy here.

All for noww, gotta run and get ready for my afternoon job.

I asked for a day off for today because we were supposed to watch Asia tonight at Turning Stone Casino tonight April 15 but I didn't feel like going knowing we would be going home late and I have to work 6am to 9pm tomorrow until Friday. Now I feel really really bad for my husband, he already bought the ticket and we didn't go. Now he is watching it live here. He said, I would have seen them live tonight. And it broke my heart. I feel like it's going to bug me forever that I had to get in his happiness' way. I told him he could go with a friend but he wouldn't so we ended up staying home tonight.

New Pinoy Friend in CNY

I have been so achy lately and now got time to rest and also got time to visit my friends.... will do more in a little while. Hubby is gonna be home pretty soon so gotta have to get off my computer or else I'd be spanked, tatot ato (i'm afraid) nope, i try to be a big girl, he's always the one doing all the house chores and when I get a chance I'd like to do my share, how's that?

Oh I forgot to share. For the whole period of time I have been living here in our tiny village in Central New York the other day I met a Filipina at the store and she was nice! she was almost my Mom. I was ecstatic to know there are other Filipinos here din pala. Although she and her family with 2 kids live 15 miles away from here still she shops in our affluent tiny village. I found out she's been here for 20 years now, 20 years! raised her kids here and visit the Philippines on a regular basis. She said she doesn't have any Filipino friends here as well like me because she said one time she attended a Fil-Am Party and she didn't like it. Filipinos bragging to each other, she said. What are you driving (aybulok na kotse lang pala), what do you do?(ako tagakamot ng puwet ng usa) how much is your pay ( ay maliit lang pala) those type of questions and so she said she tries to get away from those kind of people. Good point. SHe got my number and hope she calls me sometime and meet her family, she seems to be nice and realistic.

Xoom Resolved?

Pretty much. I guess I have to do the transaction a week ahead of time so my family is not waiting in vain back home right?

I finally emailed xoom and they replied immediately on my issue and I am satisfied with their explanation. I'd wait a little while and see what happens and if not I am gonna have to call the customer service myself. But I am sure their explanation is understandable.

Like Yen said it's too bad they changed their policy that if you're not in the US you cannot use their service, they are losing a lot of business then eh?

Problem w/ Money Remittance

I send money back home in the Philippines monthly. We used to be using Western Union but the fee is too high and the more the money you need to send the more the fee is until we discovered this xoom which is 75% less of the fee on Western Union on the same amount of time of availability which is right away. But the last 2 months of I have been using their service it now takes about 3-4 days in fact last month it took a week for the money to be available to the recipient, hubby had to call the customer service and that's the only time it became available to be claimed by my brother. Again I made the last transaction last Thursday and it still processing payment until now grrr... it makes me mad when they need to get the money and they can't get it. I haven't called the customer service yet but I am going to have to I guess if it goes on and on.

Anyway, it feels nice to know you are helping people once in a while as long as they need it and they don't take advantage of you. Knowing some Filipino traits are like that, I know for sure coz I have been a victim of a number of them. Not my family though I know they are sincere. Bad trait isn't it?

My Mother

Mother's Day will be here soon. I so miss my Mom who passed away when I was 16, long time ago na di ba hehe, not really but I miss her so bad. When I get sick I call her name and wish she's with me. She would be with me here in the US for sure. When I don't know what to do, I call her name and wish I could talk to her. I know she sees and hears me most of the time. And knows all thats happening in my life. She's watching me and guiding me.

And because Mother's day is nearing, here's a little tribute poem to all our Mudders and Moms out there. Shared to me by someone at my work.

Another Lazzzzy

Not inspiring title i know.

All the while I thought it was my off today even though I had 2 consecutive days off already, arranged dinner with some friend but I found out I have to work today for 5 hours, waaaah!
Dinner was canceled til next Saturday, sad.

I am loving the weather today, very sunny and almost 60 degrees. Warm, soon we can wear shorts and lie in the sun at our backyard to get some tan.

Saturdays are always my favorite day, shopping for new cars for both of us today. I'm excited...

I haven't had time on blogging so I never had any offers on PPP lately.
My notebook's mouse is so sensitive that even before i touch the pad it moves, ok, i know that exaggerated, but it is so freakin sensitive, needs some adjustment.

I am still trying to get used to my new notebook. I got this last Monday and still need to transfer most of my files from the other notebook I was using.

This is actually pretty good and really fast. it's nice and it's new!

I would like to spend more time on the computer but we are heading out pretty soon for our Friday dinner together. Go out or just do something together.

Nice breeze once in a while outside other times its like whirlwind. My back door is actually open right now and it feels just great. Just got home just this second and jumped right on the computer... adik! before I head out again.

Had a fun day at work and the past few days, these questions I encountered i find (real stories) (:

A lady walked in the door and walked up to the counter at McDonald's and asked,

"On the dollar menu, what's the difference between Cheeseburger and Double Cheeseburger?"

I answered,

"Cheeseburger has only 1 burger and 1 cheese while the cheese burger has 2 burgers and 2 cheeses."

And her face lit up

" Oh, I'm having double cheeseburger then."

Another lady came in.

"That snack wrap, is Chipotle the chicken?"

I said,

"No, Ma'am, that's the sauce"

Ooops...

One night hubby and I didn't feel like cooking and decided we wanted Chinese food from the Chinese take-out restaurant down the road.

I grabbed the phone.

"Hello" The chinese lady on the other line answered.

"Hi I would like to place an order, we'd like blahhh... blahhh for my husband and Boneless Spareribs with white rice for myself"

She replied "Will your boneless spareribs with bone or no bone?"

"Ahhh..I think I want my boneless spareribs with NO bone."

See? Di lang mga pinoy ang nakakaloka.

Another Fine Day

Since it is beauty outside, just perfect weather condition for me to go grocery shopping for at least our dinner tonight. I am gonna 'try' to prepare our dinner. I plan to have baked chicken mojito and sauteed zucchine and spinach -- with rice. And I would also like to 'try' get the dinner ready before hubby gets home. You'd think I am lubing hubby, nope. I did some kind of mistake and trying to divert his attention by making the dinner. I know it's unusual of me to cook, I think I cooked for like a total of 3 times including this one since I got married, good girl right? Sorry I am not a house person. Not a good cook either. I'm a career woman than a housewife.

So.. off to go to the store for now and see the outcome later k?

What would I do if it was me? Would I quit my job? I don't know, first I think I'd pass out, thats for sure. And just take it easy. Most people who win hundreds of millions in the lottery end up ruining their lives because they can't handle having too much money, or the sudden twist of fate.

Britney's On The Go

Britney seems to be happy lately since she started the show How I Met Your Mother it is nice to know that she's back to normal now, well, not like before she always had negative news in all kinds of publication, it makes me sad to know if she's in trouble. Something about her that I love about since "Baby One More Time". I loved her since then and still do. I can never hate her, still the same sweet girl I used to know no matter what. I'm a die hard fan of her can you tell?

I had a 2-hour nap this afternoon because I got too dizzy again while taking a shower and felt like almost passing out -- again. This is horrible condition that is uncalled for.

But after his performance last night, his high blood pressure sent him to the hospital due to palpitation. Hmmm, not good.

I felt like I have been frying myself in the house for 2 days all day no work. SO this morning I de ided to go back to my morning work and i did alright. I am still dizzy but not too bad, I just can't turn my head up and down, just straight and can't turn to the right either.

I didn't have to work in the afternoon so I was able to work until past 2pm. Tomorrow I will be back to my usual roll.

I realise, I think I like staying at home better and my husband would like that too, but not for a little while.

As I am sitting down here hoping for some changes on my condition, I decided to check on different definition of Vertigo. It can happen to anyone without knowing the causes, really so thought sharing this would inform most of us when it occurs.

Since I am not doing anything here, and can't do much anyway, I think studying my condition would be helpful if the medicine wouldn't help much.

Let's look closer on its definition:

Vertigo (Spinning sensation): Dizziness, balance disturbance, nauseating sensation.

My Vertigo is Still on the Go!

I still don't feel good. Apparently, this is the 4th day since I had the vertigo attack on Saturday and have been unproductive since then. *sigh* I am debating if I am going back to work tomorrow morning or not. It doesn't seem like I would feel any better in the morning anyway. So what Am I waiting for? Pagputi ng uwak? (If the crows turn to white, is that right???) I mean, the only changes that occurred since I started taking the medicine was the nausea and that's it. I still feel sick when I turn my head to a different direction.

And occassionally the throbbing on my left temple. I could cry right now. I feel like all my responsibilities at work have been left by me since I got sick and plus I'd be disappointed when I get my paycheck next week. Argh! That's the sad part. But oh well, I keep saying, I'll just make it up next week and hopefully I feel all better soon. Right?
