I send money back home in the Philippines monthly. We used to be using Western Union but the fee is too high and the more the money you need to send the more the fee is until we discovered this xoom which is 75% less of the fee on Western Union on the same amount of time of availability which is right away. But the last 2 months of I have been using their service it now takes about 3-4 days in fact last month it took a week for the money to be available to the recipient, hubby had to call the customer service and that's the only time it became available to be claimed by my brother. Again I made the last transaction last Thursday and it still processing payment until now grrr... it makes me mad when they need to get the money and they can't get it. I haven't called the customer service yet but I am going to have to I guess if it goes on and on.
Anyway, it feels nice to know you are helping people once in a while as long as they need it and they don't take advantage of you. Knowing some Filipino traits are like that, I know for sure coz I have been a victim of a number of them. Not my family though I know they are sincere. Bad trait isn't it?

nope, not sending money, i mean they take advantage when you help them. Like you give your hand they';d take your whole arm you know what I mean.

hola, i register to xoom but i never get any confirmation email. when i emailed their CS the only thing they told me is even if I did not verify my email i can go ahead and send money. nyek nyek nila!
I tried Xoom many times. That's what I have been using when I used to have our own business..Kakainis lang lately kasi they changed their requirement na dapat you're in the US para mag send ng money using Paypal or Credit card..oh well..ayaw nila yata ng business..
And I know what you meant about giving your hand and taking your whole arm! LOL

my dear u can send money gram at walmart and is faster, after you sent it they`ll get it in about 5 minutes, is $9.46 fee. dali raman kaau makuha nala sa bank or sa uban na place nga available ana. ma search mana nmo kon asa ka nga city ang list sa kuhaan ug money ana! I have been using money gram for about 2 years now, wla man problem so far.I used to send money western union, but like you said the fee to high.
hi, i've been using Xoom since 2004 and never had an issue with them so far (knock on wood). if i use my debit card and have it as "pick-up" my sis can get it right away however if i use my checking account and it's a deposit then it takes 4-5 days.
