LifeLock's Battle Against Experian

Last week Experian filed a lawsuit against Lifelock. Experian is afraid that their business is jeopardized I think. Life lock puts alerts on consumers files as part of their consumer protection service.

It appears to me that Experian is unfairly singling out Lifelock because of their success with consumers. Perhaps Experian is worried that Lifelock is doing for the consumer what has been needed all along. With the ever expanding threat from identity theft Lifelock provides exactly what the consumer needs, low cost, effective protection.

The real issue: Experian and the other two credit bureaus (Equifax & Transunion) sell your name to the credit card companies. It's how you end up with all the offers in the mail, i.e. junk mail. You didn't authorize them to give these people your name. Lifelock as part of their service is attempting to stop this for their subscribers. Sounds like a very valuable service to me, how about you?

This lawsuit seems pretty frivolous to me and I hope that the courts figure that out early on. It's just Experians attempt to use strongarm tactics against a truly consumer friendly company. My faith is in life lock because they do a great job of helping people potect their identity and at a reasonable cost as well.
